Words we use in plain English.

Short explanations so you know what lenses, speaker names, and phone capture mean for your day, not for a developer wiki.

How the terms fit together

Six words carry most of what makes yapyap different. They describe one chain: how you make a recording, how it gets labeled, and how you read it afterward.

  • Capture: a meeting bot is what other tools send. Companion capture is the phone you already carry.
  • Labeling: separate mic and call audio makes “you” and “them” clear. Speaker identity puts the name on the line.
  • Reading: a lens is the write-up format you apply, and reapply.
  • Underneath all three: on your device, which decides where the work happens.

Each page is short on purpose. If a term needs more than a screen to explain, that is usually a sign the product made it too complicated.

FAQ

Do I need to know these terms to use yapyap?
No. They exist because other tools use the same words to mean different things, and you deserve to know which one you buy.
