We are not “another free notepad.” See how write-ups, named speakers, private interviews, and phone capture stack up against other apps and gadgets — and what it takes to move off the one you pay for now.

Two kinds of competitor

The apps split into groups, and the argument is different for each one.

  • Cloud notetakers (Granola, Otter, Fireflies): the argument is where the tape lives, and whether a bot joins the call.
  • Pendants and wearables (Plaud, Omi, Limitless, Bee, Pocket): the argument is whether you need to buy and charge another device.
  • Local peers (Meetily, Humla): the argument is lenses, speaker identity, and phone capture, not privacy. They have that too.

Every page below states the five questions we judge on, and says plainly when the other tool is the better pick. Confirm current prices on the vendor’s own site.

Which comparison should I read first?
The one you pay for now. If you do not pay for anything yet, start with the local peers, because that is the closest fight.
Can I bring my recordings from another notetaker?
Audio files, yes. Import them and yapyap transcribes them like anything else. Transcripts and notes from another vendor do not transfer, so export those separately if you want to keep them.
Are these independent reviews?
No. We build yapyap and we argue for it. We state the method and link the vendor so you can check us.

What each of them costs over five years

Every app here records a meeting and writes it up. Five years of that, for one person, at the cheapest plan that unlocks the product. Only one of the bills ever ends.
